Biometric Fingerprint Security Readers

Biometrics consist of automated methods of recognizing a person based on unique physical characteristic. Each type of biometric system, while different in application, contains at least one similarity: the biometric ID must be based upon a distinguishable human attribute such as a person’s fingerprint, iris, voice pattern or even facial pattern.

Today Biometric fingerprint readers are by far the most popular form of biometric access security used, with a variety of access control systems on the market intended for general and mass market usage. Long gone are the huge bulky Biometric fingerprint scanners, now a Biometric fingerprint reader can be small enough to be incorporated into a laptop for security.

A fingerprint is made of a series of ridges and grooves. Once a Biometric fingerprint is captured the system locates the minutia points. These minutia points occur where the lines of the ridges begin, end, branch off and merge with other ridge lines. These points are then mapped and a line is drawn between each point. This creates a map of how each point relates to the other points. The map is then stored as a data stream called a minutia template in a database for future comparison with other presented fingerprints. It is important to note that during the entire process no fingerprint images are stored on the system and a fingerprint image cannot be recreated from the minutia template.

Biometrics Time & Attendance

Traditionally, gathering Biometrics time and attendance data has been a complex, time consuming process, often producing inaccurate information.

By combining easy to use Biometric control software with world leading biometric hardware, we can increase the accuracy of staff time and attendance at a fraction of the cost of conventional methods.

You can retrieve activity, validate staff shifts and export to your payroll system. It really is that simple!

Instead of employees punching in a time-card or logging their attendance by hand, they simply place their finger on the Biometric fingerprint reader sensor, or flash a card in front of the proximity or HID card reader and our software does the rest. In secure situations we install Biometric facial time and attendance recognition systems.

It is a simple solution that pays for itself over and over again by allowing your organisation to:

* Automate payroll processing – Time and attendance data is transferred using an automated software tool or exported
* Eliminate buddy-punching
* Eliminate time-cards
* Eliminate early punch-ins
* Eliminate unauthorized overtime
* Eliminate hours of payroll calculations
* Accurately reports employee time and attendance to Payroll and Human resourses

Biometric time and attendance systems completely eliminate the time and effort required by the Shift Supervisor to monitor the time and attendance activity at punch in/out times and significantly reduces the manual involvement of payroll and human resources departments, consequently leading to substantial cost savings and improved productivity.

Fire Certification Monitoring Solutions

Fire Monitoring Security is a simple solution to protect your property, information and assets from fire.

Group Fire & Safety Solutions System can provide fire monitoring for residential, small and large commercial buildings, workshops, warehouses and carparks.

By law, an alarm can sound for up to five minutes, but after this it must shut down. What a fire monitoring alarm provides is a continuous record of conditions at your property. Any change in conditions is immediately transmitted to the central station and the appropriate response initiated.

Group Fire & Safety offer accredited Fire Monitoring that complies to Australian Standard AS.1670 through a strategic business partner.

Group Biometrics Facial Recognition

Biometric Facial Recognition

Traditionally, identity verification has relied on something you know, such as a password, or something you have, such as a card or pin access device. Biometrics is unique in that it is based on the physical characteristics of an individual – i.e. something you are.

Biometric facial recognition is just one type of biometrics identification. Other types include iris scanning, fingerprint, and voice recognition. Given that portrait photos are already part of the current identification system for photo cards, it is simple to merge this with a biometric access system.

A Biometric facial recognition system is a computer program that mainly uses the following techniques:

* Facial geometry: uses geometrical characteristics of the face. May use several cameras to get better accuracy (2D, 3D…)
* Skin pattern recognition (Visual skin print)
* Facial thermogram: uses an infrared camera to map the face temperatures.

To prevent a fake face or mole from faking out the system, many systems now require the user to smile, blink, or otherwise move in a way that is human before verifying. The system can be used to compare the photograph taken when a person enters the premises, against the images stored in the centralised security system.

Biometric Access Control

Biometrics: The body and soul of Security

Biometric access systems are used to automatically recognize people based on one or more physical elements, most commonly a Biometric fingerprint. Because your fingerprint is always with you it cannot be lost, stolen or shared with other staff. This results in greater security and accountability using human Biometrics alleviating human and staff rounding of worked hours.

Biometric access control systems are more secure, they cannot be guessed, stolen, shared or written down. They are more convenient, they can’t be forgotten and are always with you. Biometric access control systems are more economical as there is no need to provide users with access cards or other expensive tokens, that are easily lost. With biometric access control systems you can be confident that the right people are getting in.

The operation of all biometric access readers is alike: they compare the template stored in memory to the scan obtained during the process of Biometric identification. If the probability that the template in the memory and the live scan belong to the same person is high enough, the Biometric ID number of that person is sent to an access control panel. The access control panel then checks permissions of the Biometric user and makes the decision whether to grant access or not.

Group Security Solutions can help you create an advanced biometric access control solution using biometric readers and our easy to use software, offering you total control to group your users and apply security settings, access control rights and time and attendance masks to determine who goes where and when. With an extensive range of reporting options included, you will always know what’s going on.

With our easy to use software, not only do you get an advanced biometric access control system you also have access to the powerful Biometric time and attendance functionality.
